Following the MAX IV Laboratory User Meeting, the LINXS Institute of Advanced Neutron and X-ray Science co-organised an engaging forum focused on novel chemistries and method development for material characterisation at synchrotrons, held in Lund, Sweden, 21-23 January 2026.

During the forum, Dr. Dominika Baster (PSI Paul Scherrer Institute) and RIANA Junior Scientist Dr. Alexey Maximenko discussed a pre-proposal Dominika submitted to the RIANA project. The proposal explores Ca-ion and Mg-ion batteries using XAS and XRD techniques at the National Synchrotron Radiation Centre SOLARIS and ESRF – The European Synchrotron facilities.
