The 19th International Conference on X-ray Absorption Fine Structure took place in Chiang Mai, Thailand, from 21–26 June 2026. The conference brought together scientists from physics, chemistry, materials science, biology, and environmental science to discuss the latest advances in X-ray absorption methods and their wide-ranging applications.
RIANA was proudly represented at the conference by our Junior Scientist, Dr. Alexey Maximenko from the ASTRA beamline at SOLARIS National Synchrotron Radiation Centre, with a poster entitled “RIANA: From Facilities to Workflows – Multimodal X-ray and Complementary Methods for Energy Materials.” Presenting the project provided an excellent opportunity to showcase RIANA’s vision, achievements, and services to a global audience of experts.
The conference was also a valuable platform for engaging with potential RIANA users from both academia and industry. By presenting our integrated approach to multimodal characterization and research workflows, we were able to raise awareness of the opportunities RIANA offers, gather feedback from the scientific community, and establish new contacts that may lead to future collaborations and user projects.
We thank the organizers for an inspiring conference and look forward to continuing the discussions and collaborations initiated at XAFS 2026.
