Call for the 'Invite an Expert' Program within the RIANA Project
Objective
The primary objective of the Invite an Expert program is to enable networks within the RIANA consortium to invite distinguished experts from other networks to share their expertise, present their latest research findings, and engage in collaborative discussions. This program aims to:
• Foster inter-network collaboration and knowledge exchange.
• Enhance the scientific quality and impact of meetings and workshops.
• Provide exposure to cutting-edge research and innovative techniques
Eligibility
This program is open to all networks within the RIANA consortium. Each inviting network is eligible to utilize this initiative once per year.
Program Details
Frequency: Each RIANA network can utilize this initiative once per year.
Funding: Financial support of up to 1,000 € is provided to support travel and meeting expenses for the invited expert.
Scope: The invited expert will deliver a keynote or an invited presentation at a meeting, workshop, or conference relevant to the inviting network.
The Invite an Expert program is part of RIANA’s broader effort to promote inter-network collaboration and enhance the overall research output within the consortium. The initiative does not intend to cover the total costs of the invitation but supports the invitation by covering a part of the total expenditure.
Application Process
The coordinator of interested networks must submit a detailed application including:
• The name and affiliation of the proposed expert,
• A brief description of the expert’s field of expertise and relevance to the inviting network’s activities,
• An outline of the planned event, including dates, location, and target audience,
• A motivation letter explaining the expected impact and benefits of the expert’s visit,
• An overview of the estimated costs of the invitation (e.g. conference fees, travel, housing, subsidence).
Conference organizers are encouraged to align with the EU Gender Equality Strategy and RIANA’s dedication to fostering diversity and inclusion by prioritizing the invitation of experts from underrepresented groups to ensure balanced and equitable representation.
Selection Criteria
Applications will be evaluated based on the following criteria:
• Match of the presentation topic with the scope of RIANA,
• Relevance of the expert’s expertise to the inviting network’s research activities,
• Potential impact of the expert’s visit on the inviting network’s scientific and collaborative efforts,
• Quality and clarity of the proposed event outline.
Selection Process
• The task leader will perform a preliminary assessment of the applications.
• Final selection will be made by the RIANA Executive Board.
